Spanish classes in Hyderabad

Hyderabad's Spanish demand runs through three named pharmaceutical exporters rather than the sector in the abstract: Dr. Reddy's, Aurobindo Pharma and Divi's Laboratories, all headquartered in the city, together account for a large share of India's API exports. None of them has a DELE or SIELE centre nearby, so sitting either exam means a flight to Bangalore or Mumbai.

Hyderabad's pharmaceutical and contract-research businesses export heavily into Latin America and Europe, which makes Spanish and Portuguese unusually commercial here compared with the rest of India. Regulatory and dossier work drives more of the demand than conversation does.

Almost entirely corporate in India. Pharmaceutical, chemical and engineering exporters running Latin American desks need commercial Spanish for quoting and customer relationships, not conversational Spanish for travel.

Dr. Reddy's own API business names Latin America directly among the regions it supplies, alongside the US, Europe, Japan, China, Korea and the CIS. Aurobindo Pharma, which distributes to more than 125 countries and earned 89 percent of its FY25 revenue from exports, and Divi's Laboratories, which ships to more than 100 countries and earns 88 percent of revenue from exports, don't break out Latin America by name in the same way Dr. Reddy's does, but both sit in the same generics-export business where a Latin American distributor account is a normal part of the book. All three are headquartered in Hyderabad rather than merely operating a plant there, so the roles that deal with a Latin American buyer, sales, regulatory and quality, sit locally rather than in a head office elsewhere in India.

The learners this produces are concentrated in a handful of roles, API sales, regulatory submissions support, and quality correspondence with a distributor rather than a manufacturing plant, which keeps class sizes small even relative to Hyderabad's large pharmaceutical workforce.

Instituto Cervantes' list of authorised Indian exam centres does not include Hyderabad. The two nearest are Bangalore's ISS India centre, a roughly one-hour flight away, and Mumbai's Hispanic Horizons centre, which also runs SIELE. Both publish their own sitting calendars rather than a shared one, so check directly with whichever centre you plan to use before booking travel around a specific date.

Reading a purchase order or a certificate of analysis in Spanish is realistic at A2. Holding an unscripted call with a distributor in Bogotá or São Paulo needs B1 at minimum. Drafting a regulatory response yourself, rather than having it checked, is a B2-level task. Instituto Cervantes' own structure counts 60 hours of instruction per level, so the step from A2 to B1 is a further 60 hours, and from B1 to B2 another 60 on top of that. Deciding the target level up front changes the length of the programme by months, not weeks, and it matters more in Hyderabad than in a city with a local exam centre, since every extra level also means another trip to Bangalore or Mumbai to certify it.
