Spanish classes in Bangalore

Bangalore is the only city on this list with a resident Spanish employer of real scale: Amadeus, the Madrid-headquartered travel-technology company, has run an engineering and R&D centre here since 2012 that now employs more than 2,000 people. It is also, along with Mumbai, one of only two cities on this list with its own authorised DELE and SIELE exam centre, so nobody sitting either exam here needs to travel.

Bangalore's requirement comes almost entirely from delivery teams supporting European and Japanese clients, plus engineers preparing for onsite postings. Classes here run early morning or late evening around client time zones, which is a scheduling problem more than a teaching one.

Almost entirely corporate in India. Pharmaceutical, chemical and engineering exporters running Latin American desks need commercial Spanish for quoting and customer relationships, not conversational Spanish for travel.

Amadeus Labs Bengaluru is the company's second-largest site worldwide after its base in Spain, doing engineering work for the group's travel-reservation and airline systems and filing more than 55 patents a year. Amadeus IT Group itself is headquartered in Madrid, with its other major development centres in Sophia Antipolis in France, London and Boston, which makes Bangalore the only one of those four sitting inside a country where Spanish is not already a widely taught second language. That scale makes it the clearest single reason an IT professional in Bangalore might pick Spanish over the German or Japanese that otherwise dominate the city's client-facing language demand.

The airport authority's air-traffic modernisation programme is a smaller, separate thread: Indra, another Spanish company, has been contracted to deploy integrated air-traffic systems across several Indian centres including Bangalore's, alongside Mumbai, Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai and Mopa. Neither company's presence obliges its India staff to learn Spanish, but both are concrete, documented reasons the language has a foothold here that most Indian cities lack.

Institute of Spanish Studies India, at Banashankari Complex on 12th Main in J P Nagar, is Bangalore's authorised centre for both DELE and SIELE. It is one of the few places in India that runs both exams from the same address rather than splitting them across two providers, which is how Mumbai does it. Confirm dates and fees on the centre's own calendar, since sittings are scheduled per cycle rather than continuously through the year.

Instituto Cervantes' own course structure counts 60 hours of instruction per CEFR level, delivered as 24 sessions of two and a half hours in the standard format. Reaching B1 is roughly 180 cumulative hours; reaching B2, the level a role in regular contact with a Spanish head office would actually want, is roughly 240. At three hours a week that is a little over a year for B1 and closer to a year and a half for B2. Compressing the timeline means taking more sessions a week, not longer ones.
